Species:  Persea americana Common name:  Avocado Family:  Lauraceae Location in Garden:  Arboretum-Car Park Notes: Yellow flowers

Species:  Prunus persica Common name:  Flowering Peach Family:  Rosaceae Location in Garden:  Arboretum Car Park, BII Notes: Dark pink flowers

Species:  Populus brandegeei Common name:  White Poplar Family:  Salicaceae Location in Garden:  Arboretum Car Park, AIII

Species:  Cassia artemisioides Common name:  Feathery Cassia Family:  Fabaceae Region of Origin:  Eastern and Central Australia Location in Garden:  Arboretum Car Park Notes: Yellow flowers. Nice fragrance. Unlike the tropical Cassias, these desert kinds have sparse foliage, which is often reduced to silvery needle-like leaves covered with short, silky hairs . This helps to reflect the sunlight and reduce the wear and heat stress from the arid habitat.

Species:  Magnolia stellata Common name:  Star Magnolia Family:  Magnoliaceae Location in Garden:  Arboretum Car Park, Eastern Perimeter
